Spring 2026 Radio Dramas
The radio dramas featured on this page were created by students in MCB 3900 – Radio Studio Operations at Kingsborough Community College. These projects challenged students to tell compelling stories entirely through sound, using dialogue, voice performance, music, ambience, and sound effects to build narrative worlds without visual imagery.
Through the production process, students explored the unique strengths of audio storytelling and learned how pacing, editing, vocal performance, and sound design shape audience emotion and understanding. Projects were recorded and edited using professional audio workflows and post-production techniques in Adobe Audition.
The assignment emphasized:
- Scriptwriting for audio-only storytelling
- Character voice performance
- Sound design and atmosphere
- Audio editing and mixing
- Narrative pacing and tension
- Creative collaboration and production planning
By relying solely on sound to establish setting, mood, and action, students gained a deeper understanding of how audio functions as both a technical craft and a storytelling language. These productions reflect the creativity, imagination, and technical development of Media Arts students as they experiment with radio theatre and immersive audio narratives.
